Hello! I’m Kate!
I am a boy mom, a Frenchie mom, a full time x-ray tech, a lover of all things luxurious, lover of the sunshine, and a self-care enthusiast who not too long ago, learned about the benefits of self-care, mediation, and ways to slow down to fully embrace a more balanced life.
I became a mother at a pretty young age so a lot of my life I felt like I was in survival mode. When I started my college career, I was never really sure “what I wanted to be when I grew up”! Although I ended up in a very rewarding career, I kept having a feeling of not being really fulfilled by it.
As I dug in trying to figure out why I felt that way, I began to discover the benefits of true self-care. I am good at my job, and I like it, and I LOVE being a mom, but in ways I still was feeling some type of emptiness- like something was missing. I was also noticing that I was feeling overwhelmed often and like I was living to work instead of working to live. So much of my energy was being spent outside of my home. I felt like I didn’t have enough of myself left to give my family the best of me at the end of the day. This really hit me hard!
I began to ask myself how I was going to fix this problem- and I learned a few really valuable lessons:
You can’t pour from an empty cup!
If you are not taking care of yourself you are not giving your best to others.
Self-care is more than just going through the motions of what someone tells you to do- You have to look inside and find what really works for you.
So, I started learning about self-care practices like meditation, shifting my mindset, gratitude journaling, and saying affirmations and it was the start of my self-care journey!
Life is too short to be rushing through most of the days. As I began to learn how to prioritize myself, become more self aware, and better manage the busyness of life, I was able to feel more balanced and begin thriving.
Once I realized that I had the power and the ability to change my mindset, my life changed.
